Wayne L. Hunsperger, MAI, SRA is the founder and president of Hunsperger & Weston, Ltd., a Greenwood Village, Colorado-based real estate appraisal firm that specializes in the unique challenges of valuing property for eminent domain cases, conservation easements, and environmental impairment. Mr. Hunsperger's personal focus is valuation for complex litigation, and he has testified as an expert witness in numerous state and federal cases all over the United States, including venues in Colorado, Washington, Idaho, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas, Missouri, Ohio, and Minnesota. He has also provided written and oral testimony for the Colorado Public Utilities Commission.

Additionally, Mr. Hunsperger has provided pro bono appraisal services to Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Latin America. In fact, his work contributed to the enactment of revised environmental law in Nicaragua, and he sponsored a Costa Rican lawyer from the Justicia para Naturaleza (Justice for Nature) organization to come live and work with him in Colorado, hoping to impart the knowledge that would enable a Costa Rican native to continue what he had started.

Mr. Hunsperger holds a Bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as both the MAI and SRA professional designations awarded by the Appraisal Institute. He is a member of the Colorado Board of Real Estate Appraisers, an honor conferred upon him in 2010 by Governor Bill Ritter. Mr. Hunsperger has over thirty years' experience in his field and he is a member of the Appraisal Institute, where he has held several offices, as well as a Friend of the Colorado Brownfields Foundation. In addition, he serves on the CLE and ALI-ABA faculties as a frequent lecturer on the topics of valuation for eminent domain and valuation of environmentally impacted real estate. Recent presentations include "Evidentiary Challenges to Appraisal Testimony" and "Condemnation 101: Making the Complex Simple in Eminent Domain."

He has authored a number of publications, including the monograph Risk, Media and Stigma (published by Earthscan Publications, Ltd., London), as well as the Appraisal Journal article, "A Survey Approach for Demonstrating Stigma Effects in Property Value Litigation" (The Appraisal Institute, 2004).
