Bill Mundy, Ph.D., MAI has enjoyed a successful international career in economic, valuation and market analysis spanning forty years. His expertise in appraisal and valuation science has taken him literally from the top of North America to the bottom of South America – from Alaska's North Slope to Terra del Fuego at the bottom of Argentina and Chile. Among the many distinguishing features of Dr. Mundy's multi-faceted career is his extensive experience as an expert witness in civil actions and litigation cases. He has testified in court in many western states, and in the Midwest and the South. Dr. Mundy is an authority on the evidentiary rules for real estate experts.

Besides eminent domain and large corporate bankruptcies, he has achieved national prominence in the U.S. as an appraiser and valuation analyst of environmentally impaired and contaminated properties that are the subject of litigation actions. In addition, he is nationally known for his pioneering work with the appraisal of trophy properties, conservation and preservation lands, and Ranch Preservation Communities. In addition to the appraisal of real estate, Dr. Mundy has made significant contributions to market and survey research, feasibility studies and economic base analyses.

As a businessman, Bill Mundy is perhaps best known as the CEO of Mundy and Associates, a national company located in Seattle, which he led for nearly thirty years and which specialized in economic, market and valuation analysis. His important collateral interests include the operation of Mundy Farms in Central Washington, devoted to various types of agriculture, crop and timber production. In addition, Dr. Mundy has had considerable experience and success as a developer of commercial, residential and agricultural properties.

During his career, Dr. Mundy has been actively involved in higher education. In addition to teaching classes at the University of Washington and the Appraisal Institute, he took the lead in developing a real estate and urban economics curriculum for Seattle University, and played an active role in building the real estate program and department at Washington State University. Additional affiliations include South Seattle Community College where he contributed to the development of their enology and viticulture program. Dr. Mundy holds a Ph.D. degree in Urban Economics from the University of Washington. He is a Fellow of the Weimer School of Advanced Studies in Real Estate and Land Economics, North Palm Beach, Florida.

Dr. Mundy is a prolific author and has written dozens of articles which have been widely published in important journals, periodicals and books. He has made a unique and outstanding contribution to the appraisal literature in such articles as "Summation of Evidentiary Rules for Real Estate Experts," "The Valuation of High-Amenity Natural Land," "Stigma and Value," "The Impact of Hazardous and Toxic Materials on Property Values," "Environmentally Impaired Property," "Contingent Valuation and Conjoint Analysis," "Defining A Trophy Property," "Trophy Property Valuation," "Valuation of Impaired Property," and "The Appraisal of Contaminated Real Estate." In 2006, he published the important volume Environmental Valuation: Intraregional and Interregional Perspectives, co-authored with Dr. John I. Carruthers. Dr. Mundy was also a reviewer and author for the 10th, 11th and 12th editions of The Appraisal of Real Estate, published by the Appraisal Institute.

Dr. Mundy's professional affiliations have included the Appraisal Institute (AI), the Counselors of Real Estate (CRE), where he served on the Executive Committee, the Real Estate Counseling Group of American (RECGA), where he served as Chairman, and The American Real Estate Society (ARES) where he has served as a Fellow.
